Comments Largest batch Gene can do, was an experiment, would not do again as I don't need that much coffee and also it might (just guessing), put more strain on the element) no problems though. It also will roast much faster with a larger temperature gradient across the chamber. So indicated temperature is far lower than the beans actually get! hence the profiles I used
Temp Profiles/s set to 245, roaster maxed at 229, till end of roast. But I left set at 245

Comments Roasted fairly quickly as was a warm day and 260g batch. Being fairly careful not to let the temperature get too hot to avoid any scorching. 1st was reached at a temp of 235c
Temp Profiles/s Start 245c/17m Roaster reached 228c in 10m 15s. Waited 30s into 1st (235C reached) then reduced temp setting to 234 all the way through till end of roast.

Comments Roasted fairly quickly as was a warm day and 260g batch. Being fairly careful not to let the temperature get too hot to avoid any scorching. 1st was reached at a temp of 238c. I reduced temperature a bit more than usual as roast was progressing too fast
Temp Profiles/s Start 245c/17m Roaster reached 220c in 8m. At 1st (238C reached) reduced temp setting to 235 all the way through till end of roast.

Comments Was going to go easy on this one and try to roast it without applying too much heat, but still keeping the roast times within 17m. Roasted fairly quickly as was a warm day and the aged coffee would tend to roast faster. Being VERY careful not to let the temperature get too hot to avoid any scorching. The roaster reached 232c in 9m 50s and I decided to hold the temperature at 232 for a while or until 1st started. Indeed the correct decision as I never needed to increase the temperature beyond 232 for the rest of the roast! The cracks in OBJ are marked and easy to hear
Temp Profiles/s Start 245c/17m Roaster reached 220c in 7m!!. reduced Max temp to 232 after 10m (232C was max temp reached) all the way through till end of roast. May even try 230C next time
